Above it all she still wants and needs to be sexy and desirable and that is her right! Scientifically proven through studies women tend to emotionally and psychologically suffer more when dealing with hair loss. Findings suggest that it’s because women are more concerned with their appearance than men. In addition, research findings say that 22% of women will suffer from hair loss by the age of 45. This may cause depression, anxiety and other symptoms. Some of these include Side effects from Child Birth or Pregnancy, Hormone Changes, Lupus, Birth Control pills, anti -depressants, blood thinners, Chemotherapy treatment and other medications. Hair styling such as hair braiding, tight ponytails, buns, corn rows or sewn in hair extensions (weaves) can also cause the hair to fall because of the constant pulling of the hair in the same direction. It causes damage to the hair follicle. In addition to wanting to Thick Gorgeous Locks we also want to be skinny. Fad Diets such as the popular High Protein Diet are also at fault for causing hair loss. It is said that 10% of people on this diet have experienced hair loss. Researchers have yet to find the exact reason. Although, people on low -carb diets produce a higher level of cortisol in their blood due to a sudden fall in their nutrients triggering hair loss. Alopecia, and Trichotillomania (trick-o-till-o-main-ee-a) are hair loss factors too. Alopecia Areata- causes hair loss in patches and in an uneven pattern on the head. It’s believed to be caused by an abnormality in the immune system and hair loss can occur rather rapid. For unknown reasons the system attacks the hair follicles and disrupts normal hair formation. Totalis- causes the loss of all head hair. The cause of this is unclear but researchers believe that it is caused by an auto immune disorder which causes the body to attack its own cells mistaking them for Pathogens in the body. Stress is also thought to be a contributor in this type of Hair loss. Universalis- causes the loss of all hair on the body. This includes eye lashes, eye brows, leg and arm hair etc. Other Common Causes for Hair loss Pattern Baldness- in women may be due to hormones, genes and/or aging. Hormonal Hair loss is known to be a problem in nearly 50% of menopausal women. A hormonal imbalance is usually the cause. Chemotherapy- affects all cells in the body not just the cancer cells. The cells in our hair follicles multiply rapidly much like cancer cells making them likely targets. Hair loss does not occur with all Chemo treatments. Although, in some it may occur as early as the second or third week after the first cycle of Chemotherapy. The hair usually falls out in clumps and not in a an even pattern. For most cancer patients the hair loss due to this treatment is much more distressing emotionally and physically than any other side effect from Chemotherapy. Hair usually grows back within 3-6 months after the treatment completion. For Treatments and Solutions please go to our Hair Aug Services page You are not alone... we are here to help you! |
